WordCamp Vegas 2016 Is Postponed. Please Read

Official Statement of WordCamp Vegas 2016:

We are scheduled to have the camp in October 8th & 9th, 2016.

Everything was on track and running smooth. Our budget was approved. We were given a green light.

We ran into a problem with the venue and the WP Foundation. No one is to blame here. It’s a simple issue with the venue contract. We are not going into details about the issue. We feel this situation can be resolved at a later date. This is in no way related to any #WPDrama hashtags or articles. Anything you hear, that’s not directly from The WordCamp Vegas Organization team, The WP Foundation, or this WordCamp Official Site, is simply hearsay.

Here’s what we will say:

“We agree with both sides. Both sides are talking and we’re trying to resolve any complications. We love the venue and we love the WP Community. The Venue has been amazing to our Meet Up Group & WordCamp. The team for the WP FOUNDATION have gone over and beyond their normal scope to assist in making sure WordCamp and the WordPress name remains protected for future WordCamp events. We are doing everything in our power to keep #WCLV on the 2016 Schedule. We apologize to those who have written, tweeted or tried to contact our team. We are not ignoring you. When we know more, we’ll inform the community.

Please, attend as many WordCamp Events as possible. We encourage you to attend Phoenix, Orlando & Ann Arbor in the month Of October.

Please cancel your plane tickets & hotels

If you are coming to Las Vegas on October 8th & 9th, specifically for WordCamp Vegas, we recommend canceling and getting a refund.

  1. Hi Russell:

Hope you guys resolve your issues soon. We wish you the best of luck.

I know it’s a lot of work getting a WordCamp together. Hope this shakes out.

  2. Venue shuffles can be really stressful (I had a few of those during my WordCamp Kansas City days). It’s really heartening to see your persistence and dedication to helping us work through those contracts together.

The folks at Central have your back no matter what!
